My mother bought it for my step dad in the mid 80s I think. The thing is that it's still working today in 2026. It's so used that I couldn't read the identification sticker on it so I had to use Google to figure out what model it is. We still use it around the house today for odd jobs, like drilling pilot holes when we replaced some decking recently.
Both Ni-Cad batteries still charge. It's really solid and is also a hammer drill. Makita tools are still some of my favorites today. 👍
